Did Not Finish

For one reason or another, I quit these:

1. The Barcode Tattoo by Suzanne Weyn

I remember trying to read this book a long time ago because someone had recommended it to me, but unfortunately not being able to finish it.  I was smart and rented it from the library, but after about 50 pages I quit.  The idea was a good one, I just was not a fan of the writing style.

2. All Our Yesterdays by Cristin Terrill

This one was quit in March 2016.  I bought the book for .99c online and was super happy to get it.  It was recommended to me by Goodreads because I had just finished the 5th Wave; and I was such a fan of that book that I went and bought this one.  The summary sounded good, but the book was both slow and fast at the same time. Eventually, at page 100, I hated the characters so much I called it.

3. The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien

This is a book that is not quit forever.  I read the first LOTR and never started the next because I was young and it was too advanced for me.  Right before the Hobbit movies came out I bought this book because I found the language easier and I figured it was get me back into those books.  I loved it! The problem was that school was busy, I had other things in my life, and other books I liked better.  So while this one goes on my quit list, I plan to remove it one day.

4. Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi

I kept getting this as a recommendation from Goodreads so I got the sample one day.  Didn't like it. Maybe one day I'll try again

5. Champion by Marie Lu

I fell in love with the first two books in this series. I read the second one in a day.  I went out and bought this one right away, and couldn't get passed the first part.  I found myself bored and hating it.  I have made promises to my roommate to finish this book one day, and one day soon.  I quit on page 69. For now, it is shelved.

6. Eldest by Christopher Paolini

I read Eragon so quickly, but hated the movie.  At this time I was in middle school and spent very little money on books.  This one was too big to borrow from the library; I would need more time than two weeks.  So it took me a long time to get enough money to buy it.  In that time I forgot everything.  Then it took my a few more years to borrow Eragon again to re-read.  I made it half way through and called it quits in both books.

7. The Sorceress by Michael Scott

My cousin recommended me these books, and even let me borrow all of them.  While I found them very interesting, I just didn't fall in love.  In the third book, I gave up.

8. The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh

I tried. I hated it. That is all.

9. Zeroes by Scott Westerfeld

This book I borrow from the library and the only reason I did not finish it was because it was due back.  I actually really liked it and would recommend it.  I will be finishing this one as soon as I make it back to the library and pick it up again.

10. The Warrior Heir by Cinda Williams Chima

Borrow from the library, found it to be middle school level.  The idea was really cool, but I couldn't make it passed page 20 before I wanted something more.

11. Grave Mercy

I just found the writing to be too slow for me.  The topic was very interesting.

12. City of Fallen Angels

This one is not quit forever, but for now I have to put it down.

13. And I Darken by Kriesten White

I read 150 pages of this book and nothing happened.  I had to quit it because I was so bored with the story.

I hope that this does not detour you from trying any of these books.  This is just my honest opinion.
Happy Reading
